The MS-I year, The Fundamentals of Military Science I, gives a basic introduction into the United States Army by giving the cadets lessons in basic military organization, customs, courtesies, traditions and an introduction into hands on field training. MS-I year cadets are required to attend class, lab, PT on Wednesday and the three day FTX. MS-I cadets are encouraged to attend PT Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the monthly FTXs which are held on Saturdays once a month.
